The White House has introduced the new official presidential portrait of Donald Trump. Released on Monday night, the portrait features a close-up of Trump against a stark black background, showing him with a serious expression. This new image replaces the previous portrait Trump shared shortly before his inauguration.
The portrait has drawn attention for its resemblance to Trump’s widely circulated mugshot taken at Fulton County Jail. The mugshot was captured during his 2024 reelection campaign after he faced charges related to a racketeering conspiracy aimed at overturning the state’s election results. Many of these charges were later dropped, and the legal case lost momentum following Trump’s victory in the 2024 election.
As tradition dictates, this official portrait will now be displayed in government buildings across the country during Trump’s presidency.
