Wike Praises Tinubu’s Landmark Achievements in Abuja at Two-Year Mark

Wike hails Tinubu’s performance in Abuja as unmatched in Nigeria’s history, credits visible progress and urges public support for continued development.

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has praised President Bola Tinubu for what he described as exceptional achievements in Abuja over the past two years. After inspecting several ongoing projects ahead of the president’s second anniversary celebrations, Wike said Tinubu’s impact on the FCT was unlike anything seen before.

Speaking in Abuja on Thursday, Wike expressed satisfaction with the visible progress made under Tinubu’s leadership. He said critics who once claimed Abuja was not functioning have now admitted there has been significant improvement. According to him, the success is clear and not limited to the capital alone, but is being felt across Nigeria.

Wike mentioned that due to the results seen so far, some citizens are already calling for Tinubu to be given more time in office. He credited the president for reviving Abuja’s infrastructure and noted that the administration is committed to making the capital city one that Nigerians can be proud of.

During the inspection, Wike highlighted several projects nearing completion. He pointed out the 100% completion of the left-wing service lane of the Outer Southern Expressway from Apo to Wassa Junction. He added that the road would also be equipped with streetlights to boost safety, with a proposal already submitted by the contractor, CGC.

Wike also reviewed work at the N20 Interchange, which connects Wole Soyinka Way with the Murtala Mohammed Expressway, commonly known as Kubwa Expressway. He confirmed that this project is close to completion and would soon be inaugurated. Another site inspected was the access road linking Obafemi Awolowo Way to the Court of Appeal in Dakibiyu District, which is also nearing completion.

Wike reiterated his commitment to delivering quality infrastructure and emphasized that he would not settle for less. He said President Tinubu had made it clear that Nigeria deserves top-tier development and pledged to keep working toward that goal. He described the scale of road construction and other infrastructure projects in Abuja as “unimaginable” and assured residents that efforts would continue.

The minister called on residents to play their part by supporting the government’s efforts, noting that progress in Abuja serves the interest of all Nigerians.
