Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), a decision that has been met with strong approval from the pro-Tinubu group, Tinubu Disciples. The group described the governor’s switch as a smart political move that benefits both the state and its people.
Prince Koyoyo Uhrorho, National Coordinator of the Tinubu Disciples, released a statement praising the governor’s decision. He called it a timely shift that brings Delta State into closer alignment with national leadership and opens doors for increased influence at the federal level.
According to Uhrorho, the move reflects growing confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s leadership. He pointed out that even former critics now recognize the president’s bold reforms and commitment to inclusive governance. Uhrorho said the governor’s defection also reaffirms the trust the group placed in Tinubu during the last elections, where they actively mobilized grassroots support.
He encouraged citizens from all backgrounds and political leanings to support Tinubu’s efforts to resolve the country’s pressing issues, adding that the president’s character and determination make him well-suited for the task.
The announcement comes amid a series of defections in Delta State, with several former leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including ex-Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, also switching allegiance to the APC.
