Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, better known as K1 De Ultimate, revealed that his deep desire to connect with God led him to become a committed member of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), even though he is a Muslim by faith.
Speaking during an interview with Agbaletu TV, K1 explained that his spiritual journey took him through several religious paths in search of a deeper relationship with God. Eventually, that search led him to the CCC, where he not only found spiritual fulfillment but also contributed by building a branch of the church.
He emphasized his dedication, saying he doesn’t just attend the church—he considers himself a full-fledged and proud member. The 68-year-old artist said he explored various places and beliefs to understand God better and that there was no limit to how far he went in that quest.
Earlier in the year, K1 made headlines after a disagreement with some Islamic clerics ahead of his mother’s burial. His use of a controversial Yoruba phrase, “ganusi,” during the conflict sparked backlash from clerics in the South West and North Central regions. Despite the criticism, K1 remains firm in his choice to embrace the Celestial Church as part of his personal spiritual growth.
