Kidnapped Priest in Kaduna Freed After Abduction by Bandits

Rev. Fr. Ibrahim Amos, a Catholic priest from Kaduna, has been released after being kidnapped by bandits. His safe return was confirmed by the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan.

Rev. Fr. Ibrahim Amos, the parish priest of St. Gerald Quasi Parish in Kurmin Risga, Kaduna State, has been freed after being kidnapped by bandits on Thursday morning. The Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan confirmed his release, stating that he returned home unharmed around 10 pm on the same day.

Rev. Fr. Jacob Shanet, the Chancellor of the Diocese, expressed gratitude towards security agencies and the public for their prayers and support during this difficult time. He emphasized the collective efforts and compassion that showed solidarity in the fight for human dignity.

In a statement, Shanet thanked all those who offered their love and prayers, stating, “Your kind gestures are a testament to the fact that we are not alone in the struggle to respect and promote the dignity of human life.” He also prayed for the safety of others in captivity and for their swift return to their families.
