Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq met with first-class traditional rulers in the state on Tuesday to address key issues, particularly concerning security and the state’s socioeconomic development. The meeting focused on strategies to enhance the safety of residents and protect properties across Kwara.
The Governor shared his administration’s plans to adopt a multi-agency approach to improving security. This includes combating cross-border threats posed by violent non-state actors fleeing from the neighboring Kainji Park area and other ongoing military operations. He emphasized the importance of involving local communities in strengthening grassroots security measures.
In his speech, the Governor expressed gratitude to the traditional rulers for their ongoing efforts to support the community. He called on them to actively engage with their people, encouraging them to assist in protecting their towns from external threats.
“We need Your Royal Highnesses to talk to our people on the efforts we must all make to protect our communities from being infiltrated,” he stated. Additionally, the Governor highlighted the importance of local intelligence in supporting the security agencies to ensure safer environments for all.
The Vice Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Oba Etsu Patigi Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi II, praised the Governor’s efforts and expressed the council’s continued support. “We will always support your administration as you are doing a good job,” the Oba remarked.
The Governor’s meeting signifies a collaborative effort to build a safer, more secure Kwara through active community involvement and improved security systems.
