The Nigerian Air Force continues to stand firm, alert, and ready to protect the nation, according to Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of Air Staff (CAS). This statement was made during the Air Force’s 61st anniversary celebrations, emphasizing the force’s unwavering dedication to safeguarding the country. In a recent operational visit to troops stationed in Katsina, the CAS encouraged Air Force personnel to maintain a high level of vigilance in their duties. He reminded them of their primary responsibility: to defend Nigeria and ensure the safety of its citizens.
Abubakar called on officers and soldiers to keep up the momentum of their operations, stressing the importance of intensifying efforts until lasting peace and security are restored across the country. As part of the anniversary celebrations, which showcased the Air Force’s capabilities, he highlighted that the force remains ready to meet any security challenges head-on.
Reassuring the public, the CAS assured Nigerians that the Air Force is committed to its constitutional mandate, noting the significant progress made in various operational theaters. Despite these achievements, he stressed that the battle is far from over, and the Air Force must not ease its efforts. He emphasized the need to continue airstrikes against terrorist groups, insurgents, and bandits to maintain national security.
In addition to marking the anniversary, Abubakar took the opportunity to visit the operational base, interact with the troops, and inspect the condition of deployed platforms. This visit, he said, reflects his ongoing commitment to the welfare of the troops and the effectiveness of operations aimed at restoring peace in the country’s troubled regions.
