A businesswoman has publicly criticized women who choose to stay home without a job in the name of caring for their families, yet later seek financial help when things go wrong. Roberta Edu, the founder of Moppet brand, shared an experience where a woman reached out to her, asking for money after quitting her job to focus on her family. The woman claimed to be starving and struggling financially, despite her decision to stay at home and care for her husband and children.
Edu expressed frustration with this, pointing out that these women often criticize career-driven women and feminists, but when faced with financial hardship, they turn to the very people they previously criticized for help. She boldly stated that, while she is fully supported by her husband, she works tirelessly, traveling to various cities and hustling, as if she were on the brink of hunger. She contrasted this with women who, despite living in challenging financial situations, choose to remain at home, making unrealistic commitments to care for their families.
Edu emphasized that she would not offer any assistance to women who choose to stay at home voluntarily and then cry out for help when things go wrong. Instead, she stated that she prefers to support working women, particularly those who do not have easy access to the internet and are in need. She concluded by sharing that everyone has their share of challenges, and that individuals must choose their paths, whether it’s facing the hunger of staying home or the hustle of working.
