Suspected Ritualist Arrested for Attacking Two-Month-Old Baby in Ogun State

A suspected ritualist has been arrested in Ogun State for causing severe harm to a two-month-old baby. The NSCDC vows justice will be served.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ogun State has apprehended a suspected ritualist for allegedly causing severe harm to a two-month-old baby. The suspect, Samuel Adebisi Adewunmi, also known as Ifa Science, was arrested on May 1, 2025, following a tip-off from Kola Taiwo, a 53-year-old man. Taiwo had noticed a serious injury on his child’s body behind the head.

Upon receiving the information, NSCDC officials immediately acted, arresting Adewunmi and initiating an investigation. The Corps’ intelligence and investigation unit is now questioning the suspect. The offence violates the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun State, and the NSCDC has promised to ensure that the law takes its full course.

Commandant Remilekun Omolade Ekundayo has urged parents to be more vigilant about their children’s safety and warned that anyone harming others will face severe legal consequences. The NSCDC is committed to upholding justice and ensuring that those who cause harm are held accountable.
