A suicide car bomber targeted a school bus in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on May 21, resulting in at least five deaths, including three children. In addition, 38 others were wounded in the attack, which took place in the city of Khuzdar, a region known for its instability. The explosion struck the bus, which was transporting children of military officials to school, a senior government representative reported. Yasir Dashti, a government official from the region, confirmed the attack and warned that the death toll might rise, as several children are in critical condition. Police confirmed the bus was carrying children from the Army Public School. Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, strongly condemned the attack, calling the perpetrators “beasts” and asserting that they should face no mercy. As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the bombing. This incident follows another bombing in the province earlier this week that killed four people near a market in Qillah Abdullah.
