Afatakpa Commends Dangote’s Bold Investment in Bayelsa

South-South leader Afatakpa hails Dangote’s Bayelsa investment, praises Igali and Diri, urges youth support for economic growth and job creation.

Chief Freeman Mac-Anthony Aghogho Afatakpa, South-South Zonal Director for Youth Affairs at the International Human Rights Protection Service (IHRPS), has publicly praised Alhaji Aliko Dangote’s recent decision to invest in Bayelsa State. The move, which includes plans for oilfield and gas development, agro-allied processing, and a seaport, is seen as a major step towards boosting the local economy and creating job opportunities.

The announcement followed a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Dangote Group and the Bayelsa State Government at the Government House in Yenagoa just a few days ago.

Afatakpa, who is also the Iyasere of Orhuworhun Kingdom in Delta State and Chairman of De-Leo Group of Companies, expressed gratitude to Ambassador Godknows Igali for playing a vital role in attracting these investments. He credited Igali, Chairman of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), for using his personal ties with Dangote to bring development home.

He described the projects as a lifeline for the people of Bayelsa and the South-South region, especially the youth and graduates who stand to benefit through direct and indirect employment.

Afatakpa also acknowledged Governor Douye Diri’s leadership, noting that the governor’s efforts in maintaining a business-friendly environment were crucial in convincing Dangote to commit to the State.

He urged Bayelsa’s young people to stay peaceful and support the governor in making sure the investments yield long-term results for the region.
