Bruno Fernandes has reportedly declined a staggering £200 million contract proposal from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal. The Manchester United captain was a top target for the Saudi side, who had been in active talks with his representatives.
Last week, Fernandes’ agent, Miguel Pinho, met directly with Al-Hilal officials during a three-day stay at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh. Sources say the club offered a three-year deal and were prepared to submit a £100 million transfer bid to Manchester United.
Part of the proposed agreement included a weekly wage boost from Fernandes’ current £280,000 to a tax-free £700,000—more than four times his current earnings.
Despite the massive financial incentive, Fernandes has chosen to remain with Manchester United. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Portuguese midfielder is committed to continuing his career at the highest level of European football.
This decision ends speculation about a possible move to the Saudi Pro League, at least for now, and signals Fernandes’ desire to compete in elite European competitions.
