Fubara Makes Official Visit to President Tinubu in Lagos

Suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara visits President Tinubu in Lagos amid ongoing political tensions and emergency rule in the state.

Siminalayi Fubara, the suspended Governor of Rivers State, visited President Bola Tinubu in Lagos, marking a significant development amid ongoing political tensions. The visit was confirmed by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy.

Earlier this year, President Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State following escalating conflicts between Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike. As part of the emergency measures, Fubara, his Deputy Ngozi Odu, and all elected members of the Rivers State Assembly were suspended for six months. The President appointed retired Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas as the state administrator to manage affairs during this period.

Fubara’s recent visit signals a possible step toward dialogue after months of political unrest in the state.
