Adeleke Family’s Visit to President Tinubu Sparks Rumors, Quickly Denied

Photos of Adeleke family’s visit to President Tinubu sparked defection rumors. APC and Adeleke’s camp deny, calling it a routine courtesy call only.

Photos showing Governor Ademola Adeleke, his brother Dr. Deji Adeleke, and musician Davido visiting President Bola Tinubu stirred political rumors in Osun State. Many speculated that the Adeleke family might switch to the All Progressives Congress (APC) before the 2026 gubernatorial election. Through former Assembly Speaker Timothy Owoeye, the Osun APC dismissed these claims, stressing that the party’s ticket is not for sale and that Adeleke is not an APC member. Owoeye suggested the Adelekes’ visit reflected uncertainty within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the APC aims to reclaim Osun’s government by 2026. Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, denied defection rumors, calling the visit a routine courtesy call and reaffirming Adeleke’s loyalty to the PDP. The political speculation remains unconfirmed as both sides reject the idea of a party switch.
