Man Drugged and Dumped in Bush Sparks Fear of Organ Harvesting in Imo State

A man survives suspected kidnap for organ harvesting in Imo after being drugged and left in a bush. His story raises alarm across the state.

A man identified as Onyekwere Edward Emeka, from Olakwo Enyiogugu in Imo State, has raised alarm after surviving what he believes was an attempted kidnapping for organ harvesting. The incident occurred on May 28, 2025, and has since caused panic among residents, especially in Ngor Okpala, where he was later discovered.

According to Emeka, the trouble began around 8 a.m. while he waited for a bus at the Fire Service Roundabout in Owerri. He intended to travel to Mbaise when an Imo Transport vehicle stopped to pick him up. Shortly after boarding, the driver requested a ₦1,000 change. Emeka said he handed it over but immediately started feeling dizzy.

He lost consciousness and later woke up tied and blindfolded in an unfamiliar bush. He recounted hearing a voice asking what he was doing there. He shouted for help, and the unknown person who found him eventually untied him. The rescuer took a photo of Emeka for evidence and informed him that he was in Ngor Okpala.

Although Emeka attempted to get the man’s name, the rescuer refused, worried he might be wrongly accused. He later helped Emeka reach Ihitte Junction on the Owerri-Aba Road, where he boarded another vehicle back to Owerri.

Emeka said he did not report the incident to the police because he could not identify the driver or recall the vehicle’s registration number. Instead, he urged public members to stay alert and maintain constant vigilance.
