Governor Okpebholo reveals why his policies prioritize people, progress, and faith during a Pentecost celebration in Edo State.

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to development and citizen-focused governance. Speaking through the state’s Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Emmanuel Okoebor, at a Pentecost Week celebration held at the Government House Chapel, Okpebholo explained that the government’s approach is grounded in a desire to improve the quality of life for residents and ensure they experience the real benefits of democracy.

The event, “The Rebirth of a New Edo,” was a platform to outline the administration’s achievements and development agenda. Okoebor disclosed that the SHINE project—focusing on Security, Healthcare, Infrastructure, Natural Resources and Agriculture, and Education—guides ongoing efforts to modernize the state.

The administration has provided updated tools and equipment to assist law enforcement agencies in security. 13 tractors have been acquired and distributed for agriculture to support farming and improve food production across local communities. Regarding infrastructure, 170 kilometers of roads are currently under construction across the state’s three senatorial districts. The state’s first flyover is underway, with a second project already approved by the cabinet.

Okoebor also cited progress in healthcare and education, underscoring the administration’s dedication to comprehensive development.

Hon. Godswill Enegbe, Special Adviser on Media Projects and Strategy, praised the governor’s leadership and openly religious stance. He said the spiritual atmosphere within the Government House is active and impactful, crediting Okpebholo’s Christian faith as a guiding force behind many policy decisions.
