The Trump Organization entered the mobile phone industry with a new service named T1 Mobile, expanding its brand into another business sector during Donald Trump’s presidency. The new venture includes a subscription plan called the “47 Plan,” a nod to Trump’s status as the 47th President of the United States.
T1 Mobile will be a virtual network provider, leasing network access from major US telecom firms like Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile. The plan is priced at $47.45 per month for 5G connectivity—cheaper than most major carriers but more expensive than budget options like Boost Mobile and Cricket.
Alongside the mobile service, T1 Mobile plans to release a smartphone in August for $499. The company claims the phone is “proudly designed and built in the United States,” though it has yet to disclose details about the manufacturers involved.
This move adds to a growing list of Trump-branded ventures launched while Trump is in office. In 2021, he introduced the Trump Media and Technology Group, which runs the Truth Social platform. In 2024, the family backed World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency platform that deals in dollar-linked stablecoins. Just before his January inauguration, Trump launched a personal meme-based cryptocurrency called $TRUMP.
While the Trump administration insists these ventures are legal and transparent, critics argue they open doors for foreign influence and potential conflicts of interest. Congressional watchdogs and ethics groups continue to question how such business activities overlap with presidential duties.
