Senator Ned Nwoko has responded to criticism from former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore regarding the imprisonment of TikToker Timothy Gabriel, known as Tuma. Sowore had accused Nwoko of wrongfully securing a court order to detain Tuma, who made controversial claims about Nwoko’s wife, actress Regina Daniels. Months earlier, Tuma posted a video alleging that Daniels was involved in an affair in Abuja, where she lives with Nwoko.
Tuma further claimed that Daniels and her alleged boyfriend met at a hotel and questioned the paternity of her two children, asserting they were not Nwoko’s. In the video, Tuma challenged Nwoko and Daniels to take legal action against him. Following these remarks, Nwoko and Daniels filed a police complaint, leading to Tuma’s arrest and detention. On June 20, Sowore criticized Nwoko on social media, arguing that Tuma’s comments were merely an insult and not a serious crime warranting detention.
In response, Nwoko shared Tuma’s original video on social media on June 21, calling both Sowore and Tuma irrelevant troublemakers. Nwoko vowed that Tuma’s prosecution would proceed despite opposition, stating that widespread online criticism would not stop the legal process. The controversy has sparked widespread discussion online, with the video and related posts circulating across platforms.
