Government Stands Firm on IBB Golf Club Property Amid Leadership Crisis

Government vows to protect IBB Golf Club property as leadership crisis escalates. Minister Wike stands firm against troublemakers.

The Federal Government has declared it will not tolerate any attempts to seize its property at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja. Minister Nyesom Wike emphasized that troublemakers would face resistance, stating that no blackmail would sway the government’s position. He highlighted plans to invest in the club to attract visitors and generate revenue, reinforcing its status as government property. Established in 1991 for 29 members, the club now has over 5,000 members, straining its facilities. The club is also grappling with a leadership crisis fueled by internal power struggles and governance disputes. Recently, club officials appealed to Wike to preserve its natural habitat, including monkeys and snakes, amid ongoing tensions.
