Kaduna Governor Demands Justice for 12 Slain Citizens in Plateau Attack

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has denounced the brutal murder of 12 Kaduna residents in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. The victims were traveling to a wedding in Quan Pan Local Government Area when attackers ambushed them in the unstable Mangun District on June 21, 2025. Eleven others were injured in the assault. In a statement released on Saturday, Sani labeled the killings as savage and demanded immediate action from security agencies to capture and prosecute those responsible. He urged Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang to lead efforts to restore peace and ensure the perpetrators face justice. Sani promised to monitor the progress of the investigation closely. He called for calm among Kaduna residents, emphasizing his government’s commitment to peace through initiatives like the Kaduna Peace Model. The governor expressed deep condolences to the victims’ families, pledging support for the injured and a determined pursuit of justice. He stressed that no one should face such violence anywhere in Nigeria, declaring that the crisis in Plateau must end.
