VP Vance: US Targets Iran’s Nuclear Efforts, Not the Country Itself

VP JD Vance says US airstrikes delayed Iran’s nuclear program by years but insists America is not at war with Iran, only its nuclear ambitions.

United States Vice President JD Vance has confirmed that recent airstrikes on Iran severely disrupted its nuclear development. Speaking during an interview on ABC, Vance explained that the military operation caused major setbacks to Iran’s nuclear progress, stating, “We know that we set the Iranian nuclear program back substantially last night, whether it’s years or beyond.” He avoided discussing classified details but emphasized the impact of the strike. Vance clarified that the United States is not at war with Iran as a nation, but rather focused solely on dismantling its nuclear capabilities. “We’re not at war with Iran — we’re at war with Iran’s nuclear program,” he said, adding that the president took decisive steps to halt the program.
