Tinubu Condemns Suicide Bombing and Lynching, Orders Tough Action on Killers

President Tinubu condemns Borno bombing and Plateau lynching, mourns Kano blast victims, and directs security forces to hunt down the attackers.

President Bola Tinubu has condemned the suicide bombing in Konduga, Borno State, and the brutal killing of 12 wedding guests travelling from Zaria to Jos. He described the bombing, which happened on Friday, June 20, at a food outlet, as a cowardly attack. The explosion, believed to be linked to Boko Haram, claimed several lives and left others injured. Tinubu urged security forces to flush out the remaining insurgents who continue to attack soft targets to cause fear.

Through a statement issued by his adviser, Bayo Onanuga, the president expressed deep sorrow over the tragic events. He sent condolences to the government and people of Borno State and directed the National Emergency Management Agency to provide immediate help to the survivors.

The president also reacted to the deadly explosion at a scrap metal factory in Kano, which occurred on Saturday morning. The blast killed five people and injured 15 others. He extended his sympathy to the victims’ families and called for a full investigation into the incident.

Reacting to the murder of 12 wedding guests, including the groom’s father and brother, Tinubu described the act as barbaric and unacceptable. The victims were on their way to Jos when they were attacked and lynched. He instructed the Nigerian Police Force to work closely with other security agencies to track down those behind the killings. Tinubu promised justice for the victims and urged Nigerians to remain calm, assuring that those responsible would face the full weight of the law.
