Prosecutor Accuses Diddy of Running Criminal Empire for 20 Years

Sean "Diddy" Combs accused of leading a violent criminal network for decades using power, fear, and money. Jury to decide on multiple federal charges.

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been accused of leading a violent and long-running criminal network, using his fame, influence, and money to commit serious crimes. On Thursday, June 26, federal prosecutors told a New York jury that the music mogul used fear and force to control people around him for over 20 years.

Lead prosecutor Christy Slavik spoke for nearly five hours, describing Combs as someone who believed he was above the law. She claimed he used employees, including bodyguards and assistants, to help carry out crimes such as sex trafficking, racketeering, drug distribution, arson, bribery, and forced labour.

According to Slavik, Combs forced his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura and another woman into drug-fueled sex acts, which he reportedly referred to as “freak offs” and “king nights.” She told the court that he controlled people through violence and manipulation, painting a disturbing picture of abuse and criminal behaviour.

The charges against Combs include racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transporting individuals for prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty and denies all claims of sexual abuse. His lawyers say the acts were consensual, the drugs were for personal use, and no organized crime existed.

Prosecutors disagreed, insisting staff members helped Combs hide his crimes for years. They also showed the jury video footage that appears to show him attacking Cassie in a hotel. During the screening, Combs looked away and showed no emotion.

More shocking claims were made. Prosecutors said Combs once kidnapped his personal assistant, assaulted a girlfriend, and even tried to blow up rapper Kid Cudi’s car.

Combs has been in custody since his arrest in September 2024. If found guilty on all counts, he could face at least 15 years in prison, possibly a life sentence.

The trial will continue Friday, with his lawyer Marc Agnifilo expected to deliver the defense’s final statement. After a final rebuttal by the prosecution, the judge will instruct the jury. They may begin deliberating the same day, and a unanimous decision is required to reach a verdict.
