Tears and Hope: Ilorin Woman Battles Breast Cancer, Needs N38m for Treatment

A mother of three in Ilorin is fighting breast cancer and needs N38m for urgent treatment after exhausting all her savings and family support.

A 50-year-old woman, Mrs. Victoria Taye Emmanuel, is appealing to kind-hearted individuals for financial help after being diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. Despite spending over N4 million so far, her family has run out of funds and urgently needs N38 million for her treatment.

Victoria, a graduate of Business Administration from Delta State, was the breadwinner of her home after her husband, Mr. Olufikayo Emmanuel, lost his job at the Coca-Cola Company in Ilorin nearly two decades ago. She ran a small fashion business that supported the family until her health took a drastic turn.

Her husband, a graduate of Kaduna State Polytechnic, explained that he now spends his days caring for his wife, as he has no income and no one else to turn to. “We’ve sold everything we own. Friends and relatives have helped, but it’s not enough,” he said. “We need N38 million for further treatment, and I’m pleading with anyone who can support us.”

Medical reports from Leah Diagnostic Centre in Ilorin, signed by Dr. Olagunju N. T., confirmed the presence of bilateral breast lesions and recommended additional tests. A more detailed diagnosis at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital revealed tumours in both breasts, classified as invasive carcinoma.

The clinical assessment, handled by Professor Agodirin and signed by Dr. Suleiman and Dr. Olayiwola, has confirmed the urgency of the treatment. Victoria, who is in constant pain, says she wants to live and continue caring for her family.
