The burial of Alhaji Aminu Dantata, a respected Nigerian business icon, has been put on hold in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, following a delay in the arrival of his body from the United Arab Emirates, where he died on Saturday. According to Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, the delay stems from procedural requirements that must be met before a body can be transported into Saudi Arabia for burial. He explained that the necessary paperwork is currently being processed between Saudi authorities and the deceased’s family. Idris confirmed that both the Nigerian embassy in Saudi Arabia and Dantata’s relatives have finalized funeral preparations. Once the documentation is cleared and the body arrives, the burial will proceed in line with Islamic rites. Dantata, remembered as one of Nigeria’s most influential industrialists, was to be laid to rest in the holy city of Madinah.
