Tinubu Ally Accuses ADC Leaders of Misleading the Poor for Political Gain

Tinubu loyalist Khamis Darazo accuses ADC politicians of deceiving the poor with false promises, claiming they lack real efforts in education or poverty relief.

A prominent northern youth leader and supporter of President Bola Tinubu, Khamis Darazo, has accused politicians in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) of misleading poor Nigerians with fake promises of support. Speaking on Thursday, Darazo claimed that opposition figures, including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Nasir El-Rufai, have failed to make any real impact on poverty or education, especially when compared to President Tinubu’s efforts.

He questioned the sincerity of their newly proposed political coalition, describing it as a self-centered move rather than one aimed at improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians. Darazo challenged them to provide proof of any free schools built in their constituencies, offering ₦100,000 to anyone who can show evidence of such projects.

Using the Rochas Foundation as an example—a non-governmental initiative offering free education across the country—Darazo said none of the opposition leaders had made similar contributions to society. He argued that their sudden push for a coalition only came after falling out with the current government and should not be taken seriously by the public.

Darazo urged Nigerians to stop accepting political promises at face value and to begin demanding accountability from leaders. He also called on citizens to remain patient with President Tinubu and allow his administration to continue its work.

According to him, the country must avoid repeating past mistakes and instead stand behind a government that, he believes, has already shown signs of real progress.
