Liverpool Plot £120m Move for Newcastle Star Isak

Liverpool are lining up a massive £120m bid for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak as the club searches for a top forward following Diogo Jota’s death.

Liverpool are reportedly preparing a huge £120 million offer for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak as the club looks to strengthen its attack ahead of the new season. The Swedish international is said to be one of the top targets on manager Arne Slot’s radar following the passing of Diogo Jota, which has left a gap in the team’s frontline.

Although Liverpool are yet to make a formal bid, sources indicate the club is serious about securing the services of the 25-year-old, who has become a key figure at Newcastle since his £63 million move from Real Sociedad in 2022. Isak had an impressive 2024–25 season, scoring 23 Premier League goals and helping the Magpies qualify for the Champions League once again. He also netted in the League Cup final win over Liverpool, ending Newcastle’s 70-year wait for a major domestic trophy.

Isak is currently in Austria with the Newcastle squad for pre-season training and still has three years left on his contract. Reports suggest the club is working to extend his deal, valuing him at around £150 million to deter interest from other teams. Arsenal are also believed to be monitoring his situation closely.

Newcastle, backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, are financially positioned to reject any offers, and Isak himself is not believed to be pushing for a transfer.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are also being linked to Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike, valued at £70 million, as well as facing the possibility of losing Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa, which would further intensify their need for a new striker.
