Myrtle Vine Academy, a private school based in Onitsha, Anambra State, has won international acclaim after emerging as a top performer in the Global School Connect competition held in London, United Kingdom. This latest victory comes just weeks after another school from the state, St John Vianney College, Ukwulu, claimed first place in an international debate contest involving schools from Nigeria and the UK.
Wife of the Anambra State governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo, hailed the achievement as a reflection of the state’s growing reputation for academic excellence. She commended the Myrtle Vine Academy students for their outstanding performance, noting that they won the prestigious Director’s Award for Social Enterprise and placed second overall to receive the Creative Impact Award.
Mrs Soludo praised the students for their intelligence, creativity, and global competitiveness, describing them as a shining example of Anambra’s legacy of excellence. She also applauded the school’s management for creating opportunities that allow students to thrive academically and engage in international platforms.
She reassured the public that the Anambra State Government remains committed to advancing quality, inclusive, and accessible education, and will continue to support initiatives that empower young learners to compete globally and achieve their full potential.
