Two pastors abducted during a Friday night vigil at Akpamoba-Igbola Mountain in Lokoja Local Government Area have been rescued and safely reunited with their families. The announcement came from the Executive Chairman of Lokoja LGA, Abdullahi Adamu, through a statement released by his Special Adviser, Hon Yusuf Mohammed Bala.
The victims, Adura Kayode and Kingsley Ebong, both serving with the City of Grace Prophetic Liberation Church, were kidnapped around 11pm during a spiritual gathering. Their rescue comes after a swift response from local security forces and community vigilante groups. The Chairman commended Commander Ismaila Hassan and the community-led teams operating between Felele and Tajimi, whose quick action disrupted the kidnappers’ plans and forced them to abandon their captives.
While the pastors are now safe, the search continues for the kidnappers. Some worshippers who managed to escape the scene have provided valuable details to the authorities. Adamu urged residents to remain calm and alert, encouraging anyone with credible information to come forward and support the ongoing investigation.
Security operatives are intensifying efforts across forested areas to ensure no victim is left behind and to eliminate the criminal hideouts threatening community safety. The Chairman reassured the public that these operations would not stop until peace is fully restored to the area.
