Adewunmi Akingbola, a 27-year-old public health researcher from Nigeria, has been shortlisted for the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe 2025 list in the Science and Healthcare category. Akingbola is widely recognized for his research on Hepatitis C, a disease that continues to affect millions in Nigeria and across the globe.
Currently based in the United Kingdom, Akingbola is conducting advanced infectious disease research at the University of Cambridge. His work focuses on creating a public health playbook designed to improve the accuracy of real-world data and reduce bias in medical studies. This project is a major step forward in improving the quality and reliability of health research across Africa and beyond.
Before moving to the UK, Akingbola studied Medicine and Surgery at Lagos State University. He later completed a public health research project during his master’s studies at Cambridge, where his findings drew attention within the global scientific community. Through his organization, HealthDrive Nigeria, he continues to promote innovative health solutions tailored to the local needs of Nigerians.
