APC Leaders Demand Action Over Unpaid Media Advertisements in Edo State

APC leaders in Edo State demand a government shake-up over delayed payments for media adverts under Governor Okpebholo’s administration.

In Edo State, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have voiced their concerns over the delayed payments for media adverts since Governor Okpebholo’s inauguration on Monday. The group, known as the Edo APC Leaders of Thought, led by spokesperson Momodu Adams, is calling for the restructuring of the Governor’s office. They specifically pointed to Mrs. Edith Sede, the Permanent Secretary of Government House and Protocol, accusing her of causing the delay in settling payments for the adverts. Attempts to reach Mrs. Sede for comment were unsuccessful.

The group also expressed concern about the continued involvement of officials from the previous administration in key government offices, particularly those handling critical functions such as Government House and Protocol. Adams emphasized that these bureaucratic delays are hindering the progress of Governor Okpebholo’s governance agenda, and the governor deserves a team fully dedicated to his vision.

The APC leaders have urged Governor Okpebholo to reorganize the inner workings of the Government House and ensure that appointments align with his developmental goals. However, some government insiders defended the professionalism of civil servants, arguing that they are trained to serve the state regardless of political shifts.
