Jandor Joins APC, Declares 2027 Lagos Governorship Ambition, Pledges Support for Tinubu’s Second Term

Former PDP candidate Jandor declares 2027 Lagos governorship bid under APC, backs Tinubu’s re-election, says party holds the ace.

Dr. Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Lagos State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The announcement, made during Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary celebrations, marked a major political shift for the Lead Visioner of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, who previously ran for governor on the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In an exclusive interview with Vanguard, Jandor expressed confidence in his political trajectory, stressing that his decision to switch camps and align with the APC was a calculated move to strengthen his ambition and serve Lagos more effectively. He dismissed speculation surrounding other potential contenders, including President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, and former governor Akinwunmi Ambode, making it clear that he was fully committed to the race.

“As for Lagos State, I am offering myself once again to serve. I’m indeed running for the Lagos governorship race in 2027,” Jandor declared. “When it was time for me to truly leave, I came all out, and we took Lagos by storm. Very soon, activities will begin to galvanize support from Mr. President and the party to ensure that whoever picks the APC governorship ticket in Lagos will have a strong run. Let me put this to rest: I am running in 2027.”

The former PDP candidate praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, describing him as a visionary leader whose policies and courage have repositioned the nation. He pledged full support for Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, stating that the President deserved another term to consolidate his achievements and lead Nigeria into a brighter future.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has proven his capacity to lead this country with vision and courage. I call on Lagosians and Nigerians at large to ensure he gets a second term in 2027 so we can all continue to benefit from his progressive leadership,” he said.

Jandor urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and resilient in the face of current challenges, assuring that the nation’s best days are still ahead. His declaration is expected to shake the Lagos political landscape once again, as his movement, known for challenging the status quo, prepares to re-enter the fray under a new platform.

With this bold step, Jandor not only positions himself as a key contender in the 2027 Lagos governorship race but also signals his firm alignment with the APC and President Tinubu’s vision for Nigeria.
