Northern Senators Call for Unity, Urge Nigerians to Reject Hate and Corruption

Northern Senators Forum urges Nigerians to embrace unity, empathy, and moral values during Easter, condemning hate, violence, and corruption.

The Northern Senators Forum has urged Nigerians to reject hate speech, corruption, banditry, terrorism, and religious or ethnic intolerance. The group emphasized that the country’s progress depends on building a society rooted in empathy, unity, and mutual respect.

Speaking in an Easter message, the Chairman of the Forum, Senator Abdulaziz Yar’adua, encouraged citizens to reflect on the meaning of the season. He described Easter as a moment for deep national reflection and an opportunity to recommit to strong moral principles. According to him, the season is not just a religious event but a reminder that love and righteousness can overcome evil and division.

Yar’adua stressed that true success is not measured by material gain but by how people treat one another. He called for more compassion, kindness, and respect in daily interactions, explaining that such values are essential for healing the nation and achieving lasting peace.

He also pointed out that the teachings of Jesus Christ—especially love, forgiveness, and humility—are relevant in confronting the country’s current challenges. He urged Nigerians to live out these values by putting others first and working toward a nation where every citizen feels seen and included.

The forum encouraged everyone to show genuine care for their neighbors and practice tolerance across religious, ethnic, and social lines. The senators expressed hope that with collective effort and shared responsibility, Nigeria can become a more united and prosperous nation.
