The 53-year-old actress and former Modern Family star posted images on Instagram on July 25, smiling in a hospital gown and showing her right leg wrapped in a knee brace and bandaged after the procedure. Though she did not share the reason for the surgeries, she captioned the post, “It’s done! Round 2 🙏🏼❤️❤️#knee.”
Messages of support flooded the comments section. Terry Crews, her co-star on America’s Got Talent, wrote, “❤️❤️❤️ proud of you!” while Lauren Sánchez Bezos and Patrick Schwarzenegger also wished her a swift recovery.
Vergara first mentioned her knee troubles in April 2024, posting on Instagram Stories after undergoing surgery at that time as well. She joked about the experience, suggesting patients find a “handsome doctor” who’ll stick by their side—referring to her then-boyfriend, orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman. The pair had been dating for over a year before calling it quits in January 2025.
Since the split, Vergara has been linked to retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady. The two were photographed on a luxury yacht cruise in Europe, appearing close during a star-studded stop in Ibiza, Spain. One photo showed singer J Balvin kissing Vergara on the head as Brady sat beside her, smiling at the camera. Reports suggest the two have been spending time together and described their connection as a “summer romance,” according to sources quoted by Page Six.
