Maurene Comey, a senior trial counsel in the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s Office and daughter of former FBI director James Comey, has been dismissed from her position. A Justice Department official confirmed her termination on Wednesday, but no reason was publicly given.
Comey had recently worked on the federal case involving music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. Before that, she helped prosecute convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell. Her removal from the Southern District of New York came without immediate comment from the office, which did not respond to Fox News Digital’s inquiry.
Her father, James Comey, was previously dismissed by President Donald Trump after overseeing the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
