A 21-year-old woman, Precious Anegbode, has been taken into police custody for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Damilola, to death in the Ijegun area of Lagos. The incident occurred on Friday, April 2025, when Anegbode visited Damilola’s home. During the visit, the couple reportedly got into a heated argument that escalated into a violent confrontation. Neighbors overheard the dispute, which eventually led to Anegbode grabbing a knife and stabbing her boyfriend.
One of the residents, who spoke anonymously, explained that they heard the couple shouting before the situation turned deadly. When they arrived at the scene, they found Damilola’s lifeless body lying on the floor. The resident further explained that while some neighbors rushed the victim to the hospital, others managed to stop Anegbode from fleeing the scene. Unfortunately, doctors confirmed Damilola’s death upon arrival at the hospital.
Following the incident, the local police station was notified, and officers responded by arresting the suspect. The police spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that the incident was reported at approximately 11:30 a.m. on the same day. The victim was taken to Igando General Hospital, where his death was confirmed, and the case was subsequently handed over to the Isheri Oshun Police Division.
An investigation was conducted at the scene, where police collected evidence, including the knife used in the attack and blood stains found at the location. Anegbode made a confessional statement under caution. The case file and evidence will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti, Yaba, for further investigation.
