Kano Schools Resume After Sallah Break as Government Issues Strict Resumption Notice

Kano State orders full resumption of boarding schools on June 15 and day schools on June 16, warning students to comply or face disciplinary action.

The Kano State Ministry of Education has announced that all boarding public and private schools, both primary and secondary, will reopen on Sunday, June 15, 2025, after the Eid-el-Kabir holiday. According to a statement released by the Director of Public Enlightenment, Balarabe Kiru, day school students are to resume on Monday, June 16, 2025. Kiru emphasized that all parents and guardians should take note of the dates and ensure that their children return to school on time. He warned that any student who fails to resume as scheduled will face disciplinary action. The statement also conveyed best wishes from the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Makoda, to both teachers and students as they complete the third term. The ministry confirmed it will carry out close monitoring across schools to ensure full attendance, punctuality, and effective academic activities throughout the state.
