Police in Rivers State have arrested a man accused of violently attacking three women at a nightclub in Port Harcourt during a birthday celebration. The incident, which happened over the weekend, gained public attention after a video shared on social media showed one of the women with a bleeding head and another with a missing front tooth. The third woman alleged that she was pushed down a staircase, stripped, and beaten by the man and others with him after he claimed they were recording him without permission.
Following public outrage, the state police command confirmed it had begun an investigation. According to the spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the suspect was taken into custody on Saturday, June 14, and released the next day, Sunday, June 15. She added that the three women and the suspect met with the state Commissioner of Police as part of the ongoing inquiry.
