Nigerian Army Boosts Man-O-War with Refurbished Operational Vehicle

Nigerian Army donates refurbished vehicle to Man-O-War Nigeria to enhance intelligence-gathering for Lagos operations, strengthening community security collaboration.

Brigadier General Olawale Matthew Oyekola, the Commander of 9 Brigade, Nigerian Army, has donated a refurbished operational vehicle to the Man-O-War Nigeria, Lagos State Command. The gesture is intended to bolster the group’s efforts in gathering intelligence for military operations throughout the state. The handover ceremony took place at the brigade’s headquarters, where an old, abandoned Operation MESA patrol vehicle was restored and presented for use.

Brigadier General Oyekola explained that the donation aims to improve cooperation with community-based security partners like the Man-O-War. He emphasized the importance of refurbishing the vehicle, stating, “This will help encourage their information-gathering and sharing capabilities, ultimately enhancing their effectiveness in supporting our operations.”

Engineer Lucky Onimowo, the Commander of the Man-O-War Lagos Command, accepted the vehicle and expressed his gratitude. He assured that the vehicle would be used efficiently to provide the brigade with timely, actionable intelligence.

The ceremony concluded with a symbolic key handover, marking a significant step in strengthening collaboration between the Army and community security groups in Lagos.
